LYF Line Gives Back and feeds the homeless in downtown Fort Lauderdale, FL
This year was LYF Line Clothing's first year giving back to the community. LYF Line Clothing fed up to 75 people on Thanksgiving day in Downtown Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The city's homeless population is at an all time high. The number of homless people living in shelters and on the streets of Broward County has grown by 6% over the past years according to Sun Sentinel.
Thanksgiving is day that most people are surrounded by family and friends not having a place to go. Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and show expression of gratitude which influenced our team to fulfill this experience with our youths, to show them that it is ok to give. It also helped for the people in our community to understand that there are lots of people out there that does not have a place to call home on the day that everyone seems to come together. One small gesture can go along way.
As one of LYF Line's very own Victoria stated, " At the end of the day it's not about what you have or even what you've accomplished. It's about who you've made better." Victoria's mom Clara cooked and all of our amazing friends and family showed great support.
